
As an Art Director on the Skype Brand Experience team, I had the privilege of working with one of the most fun and expressive brands of my career. Skype’s brand system at the time was highly dynamic and genuinely reflected the product’s pioneering role in making free audio and video communication accessible to people around the world. My work involved translating the brand’s playful and approachable personality into engaging visual experiences, ensuring consistency across campaigns, digital touch points, and marketing initiatives. Working closely with a talented team, I helped maintain the brand’s distinctive voice while pushing creative boundaries, reinforcing Skype’s position as a globally recognized and beloved communication platform.
At a time when Microsoft had recently acquired Skype, preserving the original brand spirit was extremely challenging. This transition required a lot of cross collaboration with strategists, world- class creatives as well as users, to make sure that the brand expression was always genuine.
